About Tiny Trekkers
Why We Created This Tool for Parents
As a parent myself, I was worried about if Zara was meeting her milestones or not, so created this tracker as early years from birth to age 4 are a critical period in child development where children rapidly acquire new skills. And as a parent, I can only hope that understanding and tracking these developmental milestones can help ensure our children are progressing well and identify any areas that may need additional support.
Tiny Trekkers was created by early childhood specialists to give parents a simple, free tool for monitoring their child's development across five key areas:
- Gross Motor - Large body movements like running, jumping, and climbing
- Fine Motor - Small, precise movements like drawing, cutting, and manipulating small objects
- Language - Vocabulary, sentence structure, and communication abilities
- Cognitive - Thinking skills, problem-solving, and conceptual understanding
- Social-Emotional - Managing emotions, building relationships, and social interactions

Frequently Asked Questions
No, this tool is designed as an informational aid for parents and caregivers. While it's based on established developmental guidelines, it should not replace professional medical or developmental assessment. If you have concerns about your child's development, please consult with your pediatrician or a child development specialist.
Yes, all data is stored locally on your device using your browser's local storage. No data is transmitted to our servers. You can export your data as a JSON file to back it up or transfer it to another device, and then import it when needed.
Children develop at different rates, and there is a wide range of what's considered typical development. Our tracker shows common milestones, but not achieving a specific milestone exactly when expected doesn't necessarily indicate a problem. If your child is missing multiple milestones or you're concerned about their development, consult with your child's healthcare provider.
Currently, the tracker supports monitoring one child at a time. However, you can use the export feature to save each child's data separately as a JSON file. When you want to switch to tracking a different child, you can reset the tracker and then import the appropriate file for the child you want to monitor.
